Family Beach Vacation

Here are some pictures from our recent August beach trip. We went to North Myrtle Beach, home away from home, and it was truly a nice and relaxing vacation. Madelyn really loved the beach but once she learned that her floaties weren't going to fail her, she was pool bound everyday. I must say, it was definitely a hot week but we did a great job managing the sunscreen. This was probably the first beach trip I've taken in which nightly aloe applications and cool beach sheets were not necessary. Pretty impressive I think.

Gone Fishin'

Okay, so Madelyn has really taking a liking for fishing lately. I think a lot has to do with the fact that its something special that she gets to do with her daddy. In the evenings, Jeremy has been fishing from the bridge beside our house and has actually been catching quite a few. Usually during these outings, I take the opportunity to catch up on some things that I have been meaning to do-perhaps this blog-or even just relax by watching some very intellectually stimulating show I'm sure like "So You Think You Can Dance." However, the other night after my almost three year old rang our doorbell continuously while frantically asking me to grab my camera I just had to see what all the hype was about. So I ran out of the house with my sweat shorts on and my 2 sizes too small t-shirt, camera in hand running through our front yard-all the while with no shoes on. My little Madelyn was so excited for me to see what her daddy had just reeled in from the creek. Jeremy too was quite proud of the fish he had been catching and told me to get the camera ready because Madelyn loved "petting" these "bluegill". So I'm thinking..."wow, bluegill, that sounds like a pretty nice size fish, right? A real fish and my baby girl is not intimidated or the least bit afraid to touch this thing...I am so proud of my little courageous Maddy." So as Jeremy pulls this bobbing creature from the creek and I have my camera ready to photograph this large mouth bass (of course is what I'm picturing in my head) I started snapping away...hahaha
